Renasant Bank Enters East Tenn. Market

Renasant Bank is moving into the East Tennessee market with an opening location in Maryville, the bank's Tupelo-based parent company has announced.

The full-service bank will serve as Renasant's headquarters in East Tennessee, with an initial 13 employees at 329 E. Broadway. This marks the $4.2 billion bank's eighth expansion in the Southeast in the past 18 months. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of the 108-year-old Rensant Corporation.

The Maryville bank is expected to be open by the end of the second quarter. Leading it will be banking veteran Kent Vaught, whose title is East Tennessee division president.

Other recent market expansions include Renasant's move into Starkville, Mississippi; Tuscaloosa, Alabama; and its acquisitions in Montgomery, Alabama; Roswell, Georgia; and banks in other parts of Georgia.
